It has been awhile since my last post. Not really sure why, just working a lot and doing some very much needed cleaning...
A few nights back, I was sleeping fabulously. Until, I heard this blood curdling scream, coming from my oldest daughter. Something like, what you would expect to hear in a horror movie. Yes, she is my very own "Drama Queen." She is very funny and very entertaining!!! But, not so much at 1:40 am, I might add...
When I came flying up out of bed, the only thing I could think of, was someone had broken into our home, and wondering why the dogs were not going crazy. As I'm running through the house, I now see Lindsey, standing on top of the toilet, in a total panic. Her sister, Olivia, comes out of her bedroom very annoyed, looking at the both of us. She is also, very funny, but not so much at 1:40 am.
The culprit of all the screaming and commotion was a very large, hairy, with fangs spider!!! UGH!!!
Now, the real problem was... None of us like spiders, and we can't figure out how to kill him, before he moves, or which one of us is going to do it!!! I knew from the get go, it was not going to be Lindsey. So now, I had to figure out how to get Olivia to do it. FYI... I'm probably more deathly afraid of spiders, than anyone you know. They can send me right into cardiac arrest. Like no tomorrow!!!
Olivia was a real trooper!!! Cranky but a trooper... She even took this photo AND killed the spider. While Lindsey and I screamed and jumped around like lunatics... I bribed "The Killing" for a trip to the mall...
When this traumatic ordeal was over. Lindsey says to me, "This is why you should get married again mom, so we have someone to kill the spiders." With that comment, I thought of the movie "Must Love Dogs." I was thinking my personal ad would say, "Must Kill Spiders." I just laughed and went back to bed...
P.S. If anyone knows what type of spider this is. I would be forever thankful!!! Like is it just a spider or is it poisonous? I have now found 3 of them!!! Eeeeeekkkk...
XoXo
The spider is a common wolf spider...same kind you went camping with! ;) It is non-venomous but may bite in self defense if you mess with it. It it otherwise harmless and generally shy. Btw, I stand corrected...the fuzzies on it's back were not eggs, they were spiderlings! I'm sure that makes you feel much better... :D

ReplyDeleteI want to know what Olivia gets at the Mall!!! Making my little Granddaughter kill a spider, Is that child abuse???? Maybe, that calls for a Really Good trip to the mall. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteHi Katie,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed reading your post this morning and imagined you screaming to death like I would if I saw that spider in my house..lol. I can't even begin to tell you how much I detest bugs of any kind. I also live in Florida so I deal with bugs too..lol I have had a few daddy long legs recently, but they are small and harmless. I had them come and fumigate my home so that should be the end of them. Anyway I found a site that you might want to submit the photo to so they can tell you exactly what kind of spider this is.
Here is the link: http://www.spideridentification.org/
I probably would have grabbed a can of raid and sprayed it to death had that been me..lolol
Have a great day,

p.s. one more thing. My hubby always kills bugs for me. So your sweet daughter has a point.:-D
You arachniphobics crack me up! I mean the freakin things are like a buzillionth of your size!!! The majority of spiders are harmless & eat tons of harmful bugs like mosquitos. I'd much rather have spiders in my house than pesticides! Just sayin...
