No More Brass...

We have now lived in this house two years and four months. I have been in a constant search for chandeliers to replace the one in my dining room and the foyer. All of the chandeliers I liked were well over $1000.00 each, and I definitely was not going to spend that much money. Actually, I really could not find one I liked any better than what I already had. The shape and the style of the ones that came with the house were perfect. Just them being brass was the only problem...

Yours truly on a ladder in the doorway...

So my solution was... To take the chandeliers down from the ceiling. Spray paint them black and buy new lamp shades. I was so excited about finding the white shades at Goodwill for .99 cents each!!! The red and white shades came from Stein Mart for $4.99 each...

Me supervising in my fancy shoes, socks and pajamas...

Thank you Randy for always helping me with my crazy projects, and never ever complaining...

  1. Your blog is adorable. I am in need of a chandelier, and I don't want to spend a $1,000, so this is a great idea! Thanks!
